The 7th UM Festival 2021 will take place on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August 2021.
Fergitz · Pinnow · Drei-Seen-Blick
In ungewöhnlichen Zeiten erkundet das UM Festival 2021 die Landschaft über UMWege , auf denen die Besucherinnen und Besucher immer wieder der Kunst, Literatur und Musik begegnen.
This “wandering” through the countryside (incl. shuttle bus and bicycle rental) allows for an equalisation of audience traffic, there is plenty of space and air. The festival also takes an environmentally conscious approach to natural space.
With artistic interventions, compositions and reflections, we invite you to experience the rural surroundings of the Uckermark.
This year’s edition of the UM Festival is curated by Harald F. Theiss (visual arts), Gudrun Gut (music) as well as by Ute Koenig (literature).

This year’s UM-Festival explores the region via UMWEGE. On the path between Fergitz and the Wrietzensee, the 3-Seen-Blick and Pinnow, visitors encounter art, literature and music and in this way experience their (natural) impact as an aesthetic experience: experiential value instead of market value.
The 7th UM Festival with the title UMWEGE (Detours) is, after the previous editions in which the causes of change processes and the destruction of the landscape were negotiated, also an attempt to approach the relationship between man – nature between appropriation and shaping of his environment more optimistically again today.
With art, music and literature in the landscape, the responsibility for nature and the understanding of its connections are to grow through surprising inspirations. While the sobering and fragile state of the landscape was increasingly negotiated and staged in the protected space in the recent past, the festival breaks out into the natural space in an environmentally conscious way: actionistic, sustainable, ecological, social.
